DAY 046 – DESIGNING DANGEROUSLY
Establish Your Narrative
Traditionally, we’re told people fall into either the category of believing the world acts upon them (passivity) or that they act upon the world (self-directedness). As with so many things, I think the middle way is probably the most accurate and the least reductive. We tango with our existence, sometimes taking the lead, sometimes following, but always with that push and pull within the world. Operating within resistance, sensing hopefully which direction we’re meant to take, seizing a moment and space if there’s room on the dance floor. Like dancing, you can talk about it and maybe even have a sketch of a plan, but no one can dance it for you or interpret the subtle pressures, the intimate non-language of determining our course.
