DAY 036 – DESIGNING DANGEROUSLY

Establish Your Narrative

I’m back. While the intention of the 100 Day Project is partly about exercising a creative muscle with regularity (which I have failed at in the past two weeks), it’s also about providing a framework to artificially force one to look their bullshit excuses in the face and do the work. That’s where I’m at! Pressfield in The War of Art states that we need to define the difference between that which is urgent and that which is necessary. There are many urgent things crying for attention, people I don’t want to disappoint. However, I’m classifying this work as necessary and am going to try to catch up prior to heading to Utah on Sunday, which is going to require a morning, noon, and night exercise.

So, this is my story: optimistic intentions, overwhelmed by life, failure to follow through, picking myself back up, dusting off, continuing on. As referenced in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 3, I’m tubthumping! And I hate it. And I love it.

And I’m listening to Spotify’s Women of Indie playlist and feeling pretty empowered.
